Kincaid Park Trails

Near Anchorage, the Kincaid Park area has 60km of groomed trails, of which 17km have lights. Watch out for the moose. Many skiers really enjoy the Mize Loop. Kincaid Park is located southwest of downtown Anchorage and the airport.  MORE INFO

Hilltop Ski Trail System

East of Anchorage, the 5,000 acre Far North Bicentennial Park has over 15 miles of multi-use trails, including those created for cross-country skiing at the Hilltop Ski Area. There are 30km of groomed ski trails. Watch out for moose on these trails.  MORE INFO

McLaren River Trail

West of Paxson, the McLaren River Trail is open to cross country skiing and snowmobiling. This trail departs the Denali Highway approximately one mile west of the McLaren River Bridge. The first four miles of the trail are well established trail capable of accommodating even four-wheel drive vehicles. At mile 4 the trail crosses the west fork of the McLaren River. Depending upon river conditions the trail may be impassable. The trail continues almost all the way to the McLaren Glacier.  MORE INFO

Far North Bicentennial Trails

East of Anchorage, the 5,000 acre Far North Bicentennial Park has over 15 miles of multi-use trails, including those created for cross-country skiing at the Hilltop Ski Area. There are 30km of groomed ski trails. Watch out for moose on these trails.  MORE INFO

Alyeska Resort

South of Anchorage near Girdwood in Chugach State Park, the Alyeska Resort on the slopes of Mount Alyeska offers 35km of cross-country ski trails with 5km groomed offering great views of mountain and sea. The trails start right from the Hotel Alyeska where you can access the Moose Meadows trails.  MORE INFO

Eaglecrest Nordic Trails

Near Juneau, the Eaglecrest Nordic Trails consist of two groomed loops open to cross country skiing. The trail grooming for classic track and skate skiing starts in December and runs through mid-April. The Lower Loop is a 5.5km route that varies from beginner to advanced, and features meadows and rolling hills. The elevation change is only about 40m. The Upper Loop is about 3.3km and has an elevation change of 48m. Again, the level of difficulty ranges from beginner to advanced.  MORE INFO

Gulf Of Alaska Trail

Near Yakutat in the Tongass National Forest, the Gulf Of Alaska Trail is a scenic 10 mile cross country ski trail along the coast that offers sightseeing for whales. The trail runs the coast from Ocean Cape to Loast River. The route runs through the sandy beach and uplifted sand dunes.  MORE INFO
