On the Upper Peninsula west of Silver City, there are 26 miles of groomed track in the Porcupine Mountain State Park adjacent to the Ottowa National Forest. While 12 miles are designated expert, there are 4.5 miles for beginners and the rest is intermediate.

Southeast of Littleton and east of Twin Mountain, the Bretton Woods Nordic Center has 100 km of cross country ski trails in the spectacular mountain scenery under the shadow of Mt. Washington. The trails through glades of spruce and fir are groomed for skate and classic in-line and offer vistas dominated by the Presidential Range. The trail system is divided into three trail regions: Stickney Trail Systems, Deception Trail System and the Ammonoosuc Trail System. For the most part, the trails are easy or moderate.
