East of Ithaca and west of Dryden, the Hammond Hill State Forest has 11 miles of marked snowmobiling trails. The white-blazed Finger Lake Trail crosses the forest.
West of Ithaca and Watkins Glen in Schuyler County, the 9,000 acre Sugar Hill State Forest has 40 miles of trails for snowmobilers. A portion of the Finger Lakes Trail also passes through the forest.
The Finger Lakes area has a 55 mile network of snowmobile trails maintained by the Finger Lakes Trail Runners Snowmobile Club. When snowmobiling Finger Lakes, all snowmobiles must have a New York State snowmobile registration unless you are riding on your own private property.
