North of Kewanee in Henry County, the Johnson-Sauk Trail State Park has 10 miles of designated snowmobile trails and unplowed park roads from sunrise to sunset after the completion of upland game hunting season. The scenic, looped trail system winds through stands of oak-hickory timber, pines and gently rolling meadows. Parking and toilets are available at the snowmobile trailhead for Johnson-Sauk Trail State Park, which is located 5 miles north of Kewanee.

While snowmobiling Johnson-Sauk Trail State Park, all snowmobiles must display a valid State of Illinois snowmobile registration sticker. This is required by both residents and non-residents.
