Northwest of Kankakee, the Kankakee River State Park has 15 miles of snowmobile trails. The Kankakee River State Park is a large forested park that borders the Kankakee River, and offers the snowmobiler some beautiful winter scenery. Snowmobiling is allowed from sunrise to sunset. There is snowmobile parking in the Kankakee River State Park that is available.
The park is located in Kankakee and Will counties, 6 miles northwest of Kankakee. From North or South on Interstate 57, take US57 to Exit #315 (Bradley-Bourbonnais) Take Rte. 50 south to the first stop light which is Armour Rd. Turn right on Armour Rd. and go to the 3rd stop light which is Rte. 102. Turn right (west) on SR102. The park is located 7 miles west on SR102.
While snowmobiling Kankakee River State Park, all snowmobiles must display a valid State of Illinois snowmobile registration sticker. This is required by both residents and non-residents.
