Sand Ridge State Forest Snowmobiling

The 15th most popular snowmobile trail in Illinois.

West of Manito in Mason County, the Sand Ridge State Forest has 26 miles of snowmobile trails, utilizing existing fire lanes, are available 24 hours a day. The scenic trails are situated in mature stands of native sand oak timber and vast pine plantations. Parking and toilet facilities are available at the snowmobiling trailhead for the Sand Ridge State Forest.

The Sand Ridge State Forest is located 5 miles west of Manito.

While snowmobiling Ramsey Lake State Park, all snowmobiles must display a valid State of Illinois snowmobile registration sticker. This is required by both residents and non-residents.

Overall, Sand Ridge State Forest is the 15th most popular snowmobile trail of all 18 snowmobiling rides in Illinois.
