Near Renovo, the Sproul State Forest has 35 miles of snowmobile trails and over 200 miles of designated routes. One of the most popular areas is Hyner Mountain.

To reach the southern snowmobiling trailhead Hyner Mountain from the intersection of Hyner Road (SSR 1014) and SR 120 in Hyner, go north on Hyner Road for 5.8 miles staying right at the branch. Parking is on the right, just before the intersection with Ritchie Road.

While snowmobiling Sproul State Forest, all snowmobiles must have a valid registration with the Pennsylvania Department Of Conservation And Natural Resources. The registration can be obtained from the PA DOC directly or through one of 1,000 dealers in the state.
