Blue Mountain Recreation Area Snowmobiling

Southwest of Missoula in the Lolo National Forest, the 5,500 acre Blue Mountain Recreation Area has a numerous forest roads open to snowmobiling in the winter.

To reach the snowmobiling trailhead for Blue Mountain Recreation Area from Missoula, follow US 93 (Reserve St.) south to Blue Mountain Road (CR30). Turn right heading northwest on Blue Mountain Road for 0.5 miles and park at the main area near the junction with FS365.

Overall, Blue Mountain Recreation Area is the 12th most popular snowmobile trail of all 33 snowmobiling rides in Montana.
