South of Bend and east of La Pine in the Deschutes National Forest, the Paulina Lake area has 175 miles of groomed snowmobile trails at elevations ranging from 5,000 to 8,000 feet. The Paulina Lake snowmobiling trail system is maintained by the Lodgepole Dodgers snowmobile club based in La Pine.

Overall, Paulina Lake is the 5th most popular snowmobile trail of all 30 snowmobiling rides in Oregon. Several of the better snowmobile trails are nearby Paulina Lake including Mt. Bachelor, Hoodoo, Crescent Lake, Three Creek Sno Park, Santiam Pass / Corbett Sno-Park and McKenzie PassJohn Day South.
