North of Wenatchee and Chelan, the Lake Chelan area has over 200 miles of groomed snowmobile trails at elevations ranging from 4,000 to 6,000 feet. The Lake Chelan Valley is ranked as one of the top 20 snowmobiling locations in the western US.

The snowmobile trail system at Lake Chelan is divided into the North Shore and South Shore systems which are maintained by the Lake Chelan Snowmobile Club.

Overall, Lake Chelan - South Shore is the 4th most popular snowmobile trail of all 28 snowmobiling rides in Washington. Several of the better snowmobile trails are nearby Lake Chelan - South Shore including Cle Elum - North, Lake Chelan - North Shore, Cle Elum - South and Clear Lake Sno Park.
