Best Luce Line State Trail Snowmobiling

West of St. Paul near Winsted, the Luce Line State Trail has a 56 mile section open to snowmobiles from Cosmos through Winsted to Stubbs Bay Road.

To reach the Long Lake snowmobiling trailhead, take Old Crystal Bay Rd. south to Watertown Rd., then west to Stubbs Bay Rd. Go south 1/4 mile to parking lot on west side of the road.

Snowmobiles are allowed on the trail west of Stubbs Bay Rd.

Overall, Luce Line State Trail is the 5th most popular snowmobile trail of all 38 snowmobiling rides in Minnesota. Several of the better snowmobile trails are nearby Luce Line State Trail including Minnesota Valley State Trail, Douglas State Trail, Glacial Lakes State Trail and Sakatah Singing Hills State Trail.
