Lowville West - Barnes Corners Snowmobiling

North of Utica new Barnes Corners in the Tug Hill area, there are 600 miles of groomed snowmobile trails through rolling, scenic terrain. Tug Hill is a 2,100 square mile, rural and remote region of New York State located between Lake Ontario and the Adirondacks. The region is heavily forested and receives the heaviest snowfall in the eastern United States.

The Lewis County area of Tug Hill has hundreds of miles of groomed trails. It can be divided into four regions about the center, Lowville. These regions are East, West, South and Far South (Osceola - West Leyden). These trails are maintained by the hard working volunteers of the Lewis County Snowmobile Association. A large trail map is sold by the LCSA through the Lewis County Chamber of Commerce.

When snowmobiling Lowville near Barnes Corners, all snowmobiles must have a New York State snowmobile registration unless you are riding on your own private property.
