Squaw Mountain Snowmobiling

The 9th most popular snowmobile trail in Maine.

Near Greenville above Moosehead Lake, the Squaw Mountain area has 30 miles of snowmobile trails (aka Moosehead Snowmobile Loop Trail). These trails connect with routes to Jackman and Greenville. Parking is located in the East Cove area in the town of Greenville.

Note: keep an eye out for cross-country skiers on the trail system.

For snowmobiling near Squaw Mountain and the rest of state, all riders, resident and non-resident alike, must register their snowmobiles in Maine to ride in Maine. Most of the registration money goes to the Snowmobile Trail Fund of the Department of Conservation. Registration information is available at (207) 287-2043. After registration, make sure to read the Maine Snowmobile Law Book. Note: it is illegal to ride ATVs on designated snowmobile trails.

Overall, Squaw Mountain is the 9th most popular snowmobile trail of all 25 snowmobiling rides in Maine.
