Near Liberty, the Frye Mountain area has 20 miles of snowmobile trails that connect with trails to Lake St. George State Park.

For snowmobiling near Liberty and the rest of state, all riders, resident and non-resident alike, must register their snowmobiles in Maine to ride in Maine. Most of the registration money goes to the Snowmobile Trail Fund of the Department of Conservation. Registration information is available at (207) 287-2043. After registration, make sure to read the Maine Snowmobile Law Book. Note: it is illegal to ride ATVs on designated snowmobile trails.
