In the northeast corner of the state near Island Pond, the Northeast Kingdom area has miles of groomed snowmobile trails ready to explore. While Island Pond is the snowmobile trail hub, a great base is Westmore.

Note: To snowmobile in the Northeast Kingdom, the snowmobile must have a legal registration in any US state or Canadian Province (proof of registration is required), otherwise a Vermont registration can be purchased from the Vermont DMV or licensed registration agents for a nominal fee (~$20). In addition, to ride in Vermont, a VAST TMA decal must be purchase and displayed on the snowmobile. These can be purchased from a VAST club for around $100 along with the additional $100 club membership fee.

Overall, Northeast Kingdom is the 1st most popular snowmobile trail of all 17 snowmobiling rides in Vermont.
