West of Grand Rapids in the lower western half of the Iron Range, the 1.5 million acre Chippewa National Forest has 19 snowmobile trails totalling 300 miles. Don't miss the 49 mile Soo Line Trail from Cass Lake to Moose Lake, which is the largest snowmobile trail in the state.

Overall, Soo Line Trail is the 11th most popular snowmobile trail of all 38 snowmobiling rides in Minnesota. Several of the better snowmobile trails are nearby Soo Line Trail including Bemidji / Red Lake East and Bemidji / Red Lake West.
