Best Tolland State Forest Snowmobiling

West of Springfield near Otis in the southern Berkshires, the Tolland State Forest has 15 miles of snowmobiling trails near Otis Reservoir. The snowmobile trails at Tolland State Forest are maintained by the Knoxtrail Sno-Riders club.

To reach the snowmobiling trailhead for Tolland State Forest from the Mass Turnpike US90, use Exit 3 for Westfield. Follow Route 10/202 South to Route 20. Proceed west on Route 20 for approximately six miles. Turn left on to Route 23 west. Follow Route 23 west through Blandford into East Otis. Approximately one mile past the East Otis town line turn left onto West Shore Road, then left on to Tolland Road. Follow signs.

Overall, Tolland State Forest is the 4th most popular snowmobile trail of all 18 snowmobiling rides in Massachusetts. Several of the better snowmobile trails are nearby Tolland State Forest including Mount Greylock State Reservation, Pittsfield State Forest, Adams , Beartown State Forest, Buckland and Otis.
