John Boyd Thacher State Park Snowmobiling

West of Albany and Voorheesville, the John Boyd Thacher State Park has 15 miles of trails open to snowmobiling. The park is situated along the Helderberg Escarpment with panoramas of the Hudson-Mohawk Valleys and the Adirondak Mountains.

To reach the snowmobiling trailhead for John Boyd Thacher State Park from Voorheesville, head west on New Salem Road (SR85A) to SR157. Head north on SR157 to the park office on the right. Note: The Escarpment Trail trail is open only to hiking and skiing.

When snowmobiling John Boyd Thacher State park, all snowmobiles must have a New York State snowmobile registration unless you are riding on your own private property.
