East of Wilmington near Hammonton, the 110,000 acre Wharton State Forest has over 500+ miles of trails and logging roads open to snowmobiling. The snowmobile trails in Wharton State Forest pass through pine forests with white sandy areas and several river crossings.

While snowmobiling Wharton State Forest, the snowmobile must be registered with the New Jersey MVC Agency. The driver does not need a permit or license, but the driver must be at least 14 years old and must wear an approved helmet.
