Best Sierra Madre Mountains Snowmobiling

The 12th most popular snowmobile trail in Wyoming.

West of Cheyenne and southwest of Encampment in the Medicine Bow National Forest, the Sierra Madre Mountains have 110 miles of snowmobile trails, with roughly 50 miles groomed. The elevation ranges from 7,000 to 10,000 feet.

A - Hog Park Trail - 25 miles

B - Alternate Trail - 4 miles

C - Jack Creek Loop - 42 miles

D - Battle Trail to Sandstone Trail - 26 miles

E - S Spring Creek Trail - 8 miles

To reach the Bottle Creek Parking Area from Encampment, head southwest on SR70 for 6 miles.

Note: the State of Wyoming requires residents and non-residents to display an annual Wyoming snowmobile registration decal. The annual fee revenues are used by the Snowmobile Trails Fund for trail grooming and maintenance. Decals may be purchased by calling (877) 996-7275.

Overall, Sierra Madre Mountains is the 12th most popular snowmobile trail of all 16 snowmobiling rides in Wyoming.
