Best McCarthy Beach State Park Snowmobiling

Northwest of Duluth and Virginia, the McCarthy Beach State Park has 9 miles of snowmobile trails through deeply wooded forest. The trails follow rolling ridge lines on moraines between lakes and ponds.

To reach the snowmobiling trailhead for McCarthy Beach State Park from Virigina, head west on US169 toward Hibbing. Just past Chisholm, turn north on CR5 for 15 miles to the park entrance.

Overall, McCarthy Beach State Park is the 19th most popular snowmobile trail of all 38 snowmobiling rides in Minnesota. Several of the better snowmobile trails are nearby McCarthy Beach State Park including Willard Munger State Trail, St Croix State Forest, Fond Du Lac State Forest, North Shore State Trail and Duluth.
