All snowmobiles operating on federal lands within Colorado are required to be registered with Colorado State Parks. This registration permit is available at most National Forest ranger offices and at some chamber of commerce offices. It is highly recommended to purchase the $3 annual Colorado Search And Rescue Card (CORSAR) prior to snowmobiling to help reimburse local search teams should they be needed.
Overall, Marshall Pass - Shirley Snowmobile Area is the 12th most popular snowmobile trail of all 24 snowmobiling rides in Colorado.
