Northeast of Brattleboro near Keene, there is an extensive network of groomed snowmobile trails. The Keene Snowmobile Trails are maintained by the Keene Sno-Riders Snowmobile Club.
To reach the Keene snowmobile trailhead from the intersection of SR 12A (Main St.) and Winchester St. in Keene, go west-south on Winchester St. for 1.3 miles. Turn left (west) on Krift Rd. and go about .5 miles to the end of the road. Parking is along side of the road. This accesses Primary trail 400.
While snowmobiling Keene, all snowmobiles must have a New Hampshire OHRV registration decal. To obtain a NH OHRV registration decal, you will need to show proof of member ship in a New Hampshire snowmobile club, such as the Keene Sno-Riders Snowmobile Club.
Overall, Keene is the 13th most popular snowmobile trail of all 31 snowmobiling rides in New Hampshire. Several of the better snowmobile trails are nearby Keene including Grantham , Winchester and Shugah Valley .
