Northeast of Manchester near Strafford, there is an extensive network of groomed snowmobile trails. The Strafford Snowmobile Trails are maintained by the Strafford Swamp Stompers Snowmobile Club.

To reach the Bow Lake snowmobiling trailhead for the Strafford Snowmobile Trails, head southwest out of Rochester on US 202. Go 11.6 miles (almost to the town of Northwood) and turn right (north) on SR 202A. Travel 3.2 miles to Bow Lake Village. Turn left on Province Rd. and go .1 mile to parking.

While snowmobiling Strafford, all snowmobiles must have a New Hampshire OHRV registration decal. To obtain a NH OHRV registration decal, you will need to show proof of member ship in a New Hampshire snowmobile club, such as the Strafford Swamp Stompers Snowmobile Club.

Overall, Strafford is the 22nd most popular snowmobile trail of all 31 snowmobiling rides in New Hampshire. Several of the better snowmobile trails are nearby Strafford including Alton and Brookline.
