Southwest of Pueblo and Fairview, there is a vast snowmobile trail network near Ophir Creek. The snowmobiling trailhead is a located near Fairview off SR165/US16.

All snowmobiles operating on federal lands within Colorado are required to be registered with Colorado State Parks. This registration permit is available at most National Forest ranger offices and at some chamber of commerce offices. It is highly recommended to purchase the $3 annual Colorado Search And Rescue Card (CORSAR) prior to snowmobiling to help reimburse local search teams should they be needed.
