Near Moosehead Lake, there is a 65 mile snowmobile trail network maintained by the Kokadjo Roach Riders Snowmobile Club.

For snowmobiling near Moosehead Lake and the rest of state, all riders, resident and non-resident alike, must register their snowmobiles in Maine to ride in Maine. Most of the registration money goes to the Snowmobile Trail Fund of the Department of Conservation. Registration information is available at (207) 287-2043. After registration, make sure to read the Maine Snowmobile Law Book. Note: it is illegal to ride ATVs on designated snowmobile trails.
