Northeast of Elko and south of Jarbidge, the Charleston / Jarbidge area has popular snowmobiling. The North Fork Charleston and Jarbidge recreation area typically features up to 30 feet of snow. It is located 55 miles northeast of Elko.

To reach the trailhead from Elko, head north on SR225 to the Jarbidge turnoff on CR746. Continue east on CR746 for 22 miles. Turn north for 6 miles to Charleston.

Alternately, you can use the trailhead located in the town of Jarbidge. The trail heads south towards Charleston.

Overall, Charleston / Jarbidge is the 1st most popular snowmobile trail of all 6 snowmobiling rides in Nevada.
