East of Porterville and Camp Nelson, the Tule River Area has an extensive snowmobile trail network.

The first snowmobiling trailhead is located within the Quaking Aspen Group Campground at the junction of State Highway 190 and the Western Divide Highway. Overnight parking is not allowed at Quaking Aspen. A second trailhead is located at the Ponderosa Lodge on Western Divide Highway.

Overall, Tule River / Hot Springs Area is the 28th most popular snowmobile trail of all 31 snowmobiling rides in California. Several of the better snowmobile trails are nearby Tule River / Hot Springs Area including Jonesville Snowmobile Area, Hume Lake, Hot Springs Area, Bucks Lake , Greenhorn Summit and Kaiser Pass TrailheadWhiskey Trail.
