Near Stanley in the Caribou - Targhee National Forest, the Big Hole Snowmobile Trails system is an extensive network of groomed snowmobiling trails.

To reach the SubStation snowmobile parking area from the intersection of US 20 and Main St. (SR 33) in Rexburg, go east on Main St. for 1.6 miles. Turn right (south) on S. 2nd E. and travel 2 miles to a T in the road. Take a left (east) on Erickson Dugway Rd. (the name will change to E 6000 E, Webster Gate Rd., and Walker Rd.) Follow this road as it goes east, and then south. You will go by the town of Walker. Follow the road for almost 9 miles until you come to a T. This is the Sub Station Parking area.

Overall, Big Hole is the 10th most popular snowmobile trail of all 19 snowmobiling rides in Idaho.
