Northwest of Dillon and Polaris in the Beaverhead-Deerlodge National Forest, there is a 200 mile snowmobile trail system. The trails range in elevation from 5,100 to 8,400 feet.

Dont miss the trails to the ghost town of Coolidge and the Elkhorn Mine.

The western trails lead to the Wisdom trail system. The northern trails connect with the Wise River trail system.

The trailhead is located 33 miles northwest of Dillon.

Overall, Dillon / Polaris is the 26th most popular snowmobile trail of all 33 snowmobiling rides in Montana. Several of the better snowmobile trails are nearby Dillon / Polaris including Red Lion - Georgetown Lake, Deer Lodge, Bloody Dick Trail, Schultz - Johnson Trail, Stewart Meadows Complex and Twin Lakes.
