East of Bend and south of Canyon City in the Malheur National Forest, the Sno Park south of John Day provides access to the northern half of the John Day snowmobile trail system.

The snowmobile Sno Park is on US395 just 14.5 miles south of John Day.

Overall, John Day is the 27th most popular snowmobile trail of all 30 snowmobiling rides in Oregon. Several of the better snowmobile trails are nearby John Day including Mt. Bachelor, Hoodoo, Paulina Lake, Crescent Lake, Three Creek Sno Park and Santiam Pass / Corbett Sno-Park.
