North of Duluth, there is an extensive trail network, including the North Shore State Trail is a 146 mile snowmobile route from Duluth to Grand Marias.

To reach the Duluth snowmobiline trailhead from US35, head north on 21st Avenue East, then northeast on Woodland Avenue, southeast on Martin Road, right onto to Eagle Lake Road and to the parking area.

Overall, Duluth is the 23rd most popular snowmobile trail of all 38 snowmobiling rides in Minnesota. Several of the better snowmobile trails are nearby Duluth including Willard Munger State Trail, St Croix State Forest, Fond Du Lac State Forest, McCarthy Beach State Park and North Shore State Trail.
