West of Winnipeg and southwest of Brandon, the Hartney area is the center of a 500km snowmobile trail network. The trails also provide access to Turtle Mountain Provincial Park. Most of the trails are signed and at least 3m wide. The trail network is maintained and groomed by the Hartney Snow Trackers Snowmobile Club.

To reach the trailhead from Brandon, follow Highway 21 south towards Hartney. Look for trail access on Highway 21 about 7 miles south of the intersection with Highway 2.

Overall, Hartney is the 8th most popular snowmobile trail of all 12 snowmobiling rides in Manitoba.
